The instructions are a little lacking, but its use is fairly straightforward. I first tried it on my 3500 watt 4-stroke generator, and it was reading around 35-3600 rpm. The reading did dance around a bit at times, from as low as 2700ish to 3600+ rpm, even though I couldn't hear any obvious throttle changes. Of course, maybe this tach is more accurate than my ears, but I honestly couldn't 'hear' any change in RPMs. ![]() Electronic Specialties 328 EZ Tach Plus. The most important thing before you use this is read the manual, then read it again, put the battery in the unit and read the manual again. The manual is short but missing the fine details are what will give you issues with this product. Then, something rather odd happened. I switched off the generator for a while to do some other things, then restarted it. I switched on the tach, set it to '4-stroke 1-cylinder', and it began reading 6900-7200ish RPMs. When I switched it to '4-stroke 2-cylinder', it began reading roughly 3600 RPM, which is what the motor should be turning. I am not sure why the change, as the gen set is a 1-cylinder engine. Unlock code lg. I did notice that the spark plug wire on the gen set has a lot thicker insulation, so I have no idea if this has anything to do with it or not.
